Originally we planned the next blog post for the Litchfield national park, but on the way we got a nice recommendation from an older local couple, camping on the same spot. So we changed our plans once again and headed to the Douglas Hot Springs. Really a nice place, especially […]

Katherine Gorge was our first stop in this national park, unfortunately a bit of a disappointment. Highly advertised, but you need to book a tour basically for everything. The hiking trails are rather boring, following mainly the maintenance track so we left with not much more than just a nice […]
…or one of the most boring highways we have seen so far on this planet. At least on the first look or for most of the kilometres, this is the case. You can easily drive hundreds of kilometres without spotting anything interesting, but every now and then you find a […]
Somehow it was not even on our agenda to visit Central Australia again, but we both thought always that we missed something in this area the last time, as we had not so much time during our first trip to Australia. It basically started all with this gorge, close to […]
Here something for big boys… Really impressive what they drive around here and what you can meet on a dirt road. Would be fun to drive one of those, at least for some meters. Parking might be an issue, but who cares?!
Well that is not completely true but the Tanami Road is really nothing I would recommend for somebody being on a normal vacation in Australia. It leads 1.088 kilometres through the middle of nowhere from Halls Creek in the Kimberley region to Alice Springs. For us it was a nice […]
I really like the Australian way of making attractions accessible. Nearly all of us now the “Bungle Bungles” from documentaries about Australia, but they are accessible by 4WD only. In Europe they would build a tar road, just to allow access for everybody. So we were nearly alone, just few […]
Time to relax and calm down again, after the nice river crossing on the Gibb-River-Road. Waking up in a bush camp with a sunrise like this, what can be better? Otherwise the road as such was rather disappointing when it comes to the driving part; we somehow expected more 4×4 […]
Sometimes water is deeper and the current is stronger than expected. Roughly 1,20 meters of water is really raising your blood pressure when you notice the only way out is to move ahead. I really love our car… 🙂 Somehow sad that there is no video of our faces existing.
