Originally we did not plan to head further North than Oulu, mainly due to the snow situation, but as it got so warm we changed our plans. So the Syöte National Park got in our focus, direction North set for the coming days, especially as it should be a great place for hiking.
With a bit of luck, we even managed to find some Reindeer in a beautiful forest environment, much better than just close to the roads.
Well, we still faced some snow on the first trail, but being a short one, it was not a big issue, and still a beautiful hike down to the river, beautiful spot and as the coming day will show, we managed to get there again. A map would have been nice, but the information centre was still closed, so we had to manage without.
But ones again a beautiful camp spot just for the four of us, close to a lake and amazingly warm evening temperatures. Sitting outside, cooking on the fire and having a beer or two, what can be better?
The next day we planned for a nice and relaxing 9 kilometres hike from our camp spot, but without a map and with a kind of misleading markings, it turned into a much longer hike, but still very beautiful. Amazing landscape and surroundings, absolutely advisable to come up here and do some hiking.
Especially with some more wildlife in the soft morning light.
Fantastic place, so when you get to the North of Finland, stop by, stretch your legs and do some hiking yourself. Unfortunately for us this will be the turning point of our trip, from here we are heading slowly South, towards Helsinki again.
